Why Jana Reddy, Ponnala are visiting Gandhi Bhavan regularly?

Senior Congress leader and former minister K Jana Reddy, who remained in the shadows all these years and has even indicated that he would like his son to become active in politics, surprised everyone when he suddenly appeared at the Gandhi Bhavan the other day. He enthusiastically spoke to the cadre and even the media. Jana Reddy's sudden activism after all the talk of retirement, has surprised many.

Ditto with former PCC chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah. He was largely inactive. But, suddenly, he addressed a press conference at the Gandhi Bhavan. Eternal dissident Komatireddy Venkata Reddy too made his intentions very clear and has said that he is in the race for the CM's post in Telangana. He said this at his birthday bash recently. Another prominent leader and CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka is on a pada yatra these days.

Gandhi Bhavan watchers say that this sudden spurt in the activities of the senior Congress leaders has got to do with the recent success of the party in Karnataka elections. These party leaders are sensing a similar turnaround in Telangana and have suddenly become active. All these leaders are indirectly indicating that they are in the race for the CM's post in Telangana.

These leaders are said to be clearly sensing an opportunity for themselves in Telangana. Hence, they have alss begun visiting the Gandhi Bhavan quite often. Meanwhile, PCC chief Revanth Reddy too has upped his ante. He has become more strident in his criticism of the ruling TRS and chief minister KCR. He feels that the Congress Party alone can challenge the TRS in Telangana and is of the opinion that the BJP is only a distant third in Telangana.
