The ruling YSRCP is finding four assembly constituencies in West Godavari district tough nuts to crack. The four constituencies in question are – Denduluru, Gopalapuram, Tanuku and Palakole. Of these, Palakole is already represented by the TDP. The other three are currently held by the YSRCP. But, the party's stock is falling quite sharply.
Two-time TDP MLA from Palakole, Nimmala Ramanaidu is going strong in the constituency. He is organizing innovative protest programmes and is strengthening the party in every which way. The YSRCP does not seem to have any answer to his acumen. What more? The general buzz is Ramanaidu could become a minister if the TDP comes to power. This is adding to Ramanaidu's popularity.
In Gopalapuram, the sitting YSRCP MLA – Talari Venkat Rao – has become unpopular due to some of his actions. He has alienated the strong Kamma community by interfering in a local dispute in G Kothapalli. The TDP has appointed young and dynamic Maddipati Venkat Raju as the constituency incharge and he is slowly but surely penetrating into the villages.
IN Tanuku, sitting MLA and endowments minister Karmuri Nageswara Rao has alienated a lot of party workers due to his ways. TDP incharge Arumilli Radhakrishna has organized several successful programmes. The TDP is improving its position in the constituency. Similarly, former MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar is slowly regaining the lost ground in Denduluru. The YSRCP leaders feel that these four constituencies are slowly slipping out of their hands. The cadre is looking for some quick-fix solutions to this problem. Will Jagan act now?
