Star actress Samantha who suffered from a severe health ailment and couldn't even participate in the promotions of 'Yashoda' is now waiting for the release of her next movie 'Shaakunthalam'. She made a public appearance during the trailer launch of this flick but insiders say that there is a lot of uncertainty among the producers of her present commitments.
The first on the list is Vijay Deverakonda's romantic love story 'Khushi'. After completing a part of the shooting, Samantha got hospitalized due to her sickness. From that point, Mythri Movie Makers and director Shiva Nirvana are patiently waiting for the 'Rangasthalam' heroine. Despite their long wait, Samantha did not join their shoot and reportedly asked for another month's time. Vijay has kept his cop action movie under Gautham Tinnanuri's direction on hold in order to complete 'Khushi' first.
In the meanwhile, there is news that Samantha went to Bombay for joining the shoot of her Hindi web series which is created by Raj & DK. Varun Dhawan is playing the lead in it. While many agree that it is a commitment that was given earlier, it was accepted after 'Khushi'. So, there is a logic behind the 'Khushi' team reportedly being upset with Samantha's decision. But with no confirmation on anything, the only person who can give some clarity on this is Sam herself.
On the other hand, there are only 18 days left before the release of 'Shaakunthalam'. The trailer got a decent response but the movie needs to be promoted aggressively considering the money the makers spent. Gunasekhar is ready with the plans and they need to be executed as soon as Samantha lands in Hyderabad. Despite knowing that 'Shaakunthalam' is arriving on the given date, Dhanush's 'Sir' and Kiran Abbavaram's 'Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha' gave not moved their release dates. Only Vishwak Sen's 'Dhamki' managed to push their date. 'Yashoda' had a decent run since there are no other releases but it looks like Samantha and the rest of the 'Shaakunthalam' team need to work harder to generate more buzz on the film.
