Meet Jawahar Reddy, the New CS of Andhra Pradesh!

1985 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Sameer Sharma is holding the position of Chief Secretary in the Andhra Pradesh government. His tenure will come to an end tomorrow. For the past few days, a bunch of names are doing rounds as the replacement of Sameer Sharma for the plum post.

Putting a full stop to the suspense, Jawahar Reddy was appointed as the new Chief Secretary. It is said that the orders confirming the same were announced. He will take charge as the CS from tomorrow evening after Sameer Sharma will step down from his position.

Though there are a few senior IAS officers in the state, Jawahar Reddy was picked. Since Jagan Mohan Reddy came to power Jawahar Reddy has been holding good positions in the state. He earlier held the positions like Health Department Secretary, TTD EO, and Special Secretary.

A few experts say that keeping the next general in mind the Andhra Pradesh government might have picked Jawahar Reddy for the plum post. The next general elections will fall in one and a half or two years from now and when the state goes for the polls, Jawahar Reddy will be in the position.

On the other hand, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has been facing criticism for favoring his community by giving all the good positions in the party and the government to his community members.

The majority of nominated posts were given to the community members. As if it is not enough another Reddy came on board. That too Jawahar Reddy was selected for a big position.
