BJP Rings Dangerbells to MHA with Rebel Minister?

The political picture of Maharashtra changed post the 2019 polls. As no political party got the majority, the parties were forced to form an alliance to form the government. With BJP and Shiv Sena firm on the Chief Minister's post, both parties parted ways and Shiv Sena joined hands with NCP and Congress.

Despite having contrasting ideologies, Shiv Sena and Congress formed a grand alliance and formed the government. While the Congress party is a secular party, Shiv Sena is known for carrying its pro-Hindu ideology to its sleeves. But the differences did not stop them from joining hands. Since then Shiv Sena and BJP turned enemies and have been attacking each other.

Amid this, BJP shocked Shiv Sena by winning three Rajya Sabha polls in the state. Now, the party gave a big blow to the ruling alliance by making five candidates win the state legislative council elections. The back-to-back polls came as a big surprise for Shiv Sena and Maha Vikas Aghadi government (MVA).

Now the Maharashtra government is facing the heat of the internal fights. Leaders who are not happy with the government want to shift their loyalties to the saffron party Bharatiya Janata Party. Reportedly, a Cabinet Minister and a few MLAs went to Gujarat.

The new development is ringing danger bells for the MHA as the Shiv Sena called for a key meeting. The Minister who is having issues with the alliance is unreachable reportedly making things problematic for Shiv Sena, Congress, and NCP.

Since then, it has been widely reported that the Bharatiya Janata Party wants to apply the model it tried in Karnataka, Rajasthan, and form a government in Maharashtra. With more than 20 MLAs supporting the rebel Minister reportedly, many think that the MLAs count would reduce the MHA's strength in the state assembly and make it easy for the BJP to dethrone the MHA from the government.

Now the question is whether the Bharatiya Janata Party can do the same in Maharashtra. As a few MLAs and Ministers as well are not happy with the MHA, we have to see if the BJP can encash this anti-sentiment.
