Uttam Kumar Reddy Slams Trs, Bjp For Cheating Farmers

The Telangana wing of Congress lashed out at the ruling parties in Telangana and Centre Telangana Rashtra Samithi(TRS) and Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) for playing a blame game on the paddy procurement. The party accused both parties of doing drama on the issue and cheating the farmer community in the state.

Former TPCC chief, Congress Nalgonda MP Uttam Kumar Reddy addressed Lok Sabha today on the paddy procurement and alleged that both parties have failed to address the issue correctly which is making the farmers suffer. Talking about the fight of TRS MPs on paddy procurement, Uttam Kumar Reddy called it a drama.

The Lok Sabha members slammed Centre and TRS alleging that they are destroying the lives of the paddy farmers. He blasted KCR for cheating farmers and reminded them that KCR vowed to buy every single grain of paddy from the farmers.

Minister of Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs Pisyuh Goyal replied to Uttam Kumar Reddy's statements and made it clear that the Centre cannot procure paddy from the farmers. He said it is the state government that has to procure the paddy.

The T Congress MP was not happy with the Centre’s response on the matter and called it irresponsible. He asked what's the point of bringing Minimum Support Price(MSP) when the paddy cannot be produced by the Centre for MSP.

"Irresponsible reply of union minister in parliament that they will not procure paddy in TS. If GoI doesn't procure paddy at MSP, then MSP is for whom? BJP & TRS govts are destroying lives of paddy farmers in TS. KCR kept saying that he will buy every grain but has cheated farmers," Uttam Kumar Reddy tweeted sharing a clip of him from Lok Sabha.
