The holy shrine of Lord Venkateswara, the Tirumala temple is sacred for Hindus and the devotees from various parts of the country visit the shrine to offer prayers for the presiding deity.

But the devotees allowed into the temple has been restricted since 2020 and due to the Covid fear only a limited number of devotees are being allowed to enter the famous temple by the authorities.

As a good news for the devotees the TTD trust had decided to increase the cap on Darshanam tickets enabling more devotees to visit the holy shrine. The ticket sales had reached an all time high with as many as 2.8 lakh tickets being sold in less than half an hour as per the information.

At the pace where the tickets were sold shows how devotees are waiting to visit the shrine and offer their prayers.

The trust took the decision to sell eight thousand Sarva Darshanam tickets per day and tickets for more than one month were sold out in half an hour which is the all time highest.

Reports say that the online booking of the Darshanam tickets was started on Saturday by the trust officials. While the bookings started at 9 AM, 2,80.000 Darshanam tickets were booked by 9:30 AM.

The TTD trust had appealed to the devotees to make sure that they follow all the Covid protocols when they come to the temple for the Darshanam.

On the other hand, the devotees were not happy with the Darshanam tickets being sold on the Jiomart web domain, run by the Reliance industries. When a few devotees tried to book their tickets, the links they have opened for the same have taken them to the web domain.

The TTD had responded to the Controversy straightaway and said due to the issues faced by the ticket booking website, they sought the help of Jiomart and the website name will not be seen from next month. Jiomart had provided the services without charging a single rupee, the trust added.

However, TTD officials later clarified that they had engaged the services of Jio, an info-comm company of the Reliance group, to sort out the issues faced by the devotees during ticket bookings in the last two months.
