Actor Bijay Anand extends support to Alia amid Ad Controversy

Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt is one of the leading and talented actors in the country right now. She has been choosing interesting concepts since her earlier days and emerged as one of the popular actors.

However, the actress has been facing severe trolling from the netizens due to her recent advertisement. The ad in which Alia appeared as a bride did not go well with the netizens as she raises a question against the 'Kanyadaan' ritual.

Joining the netizens in slamming the advertisement, Bollywood Queen Kangana Ranaut had also found fault with the ad and the actress for appearing in such an ad.

Amid the controversy, Actor Bijay Anand, who was seen as Alia Bhatt's father in the controversial advertisement had responded to the controversy and extended his support to her reel daughter.

Giving reason for this, Bijay Anand said that Alia Bhatt did what her director asked her to do. Actors trust the direction, writing and the entire production team while doing any subject. What we expect from them is that the subject won't drag us into any sort of controversies, he said.

The actor said that the criticism was a bit bizarre as the advertisement was interpreted wrongly as everyone has their interpretation of things.

Giving his interpretation of the advertisement, Bijay Anand said that he is seeing Kanya Maan term as an emphasis to respect the women as every seven minutes, a woman is raped.

Hitting back at people who are trolling Alia Bhatt, the actor asked why can't the trollers see from a positive angle that Alia Bhatt is asking to respect women, he added.

Earlier Kangana Ranaut found fault with the advertisement and appealed to the advertisement to not use religion, majority and minority issues to sell their products.

On the work front, Alia Bhatt had completed her portion in the high budget film RRR. This marks the entry of Alia Bhatt into Southern industry. She is currently working on Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani.

On the flip side, Alia Bhatt is also part of Brahmastra that stars Ranbir Kapoor as the male lead. For the first time, the duo is sharing screen space together.
