Indian Hockey Team Ends Olympic Medal Dreams After Four Decades

The India men's hockey team had made history by bringing an Olympic medal after 41 long years by crushing Germany. Indian team won the match 5-4.

The heart beats of the Indian fans slipped at once with Germany taking the early lead in the first few minutes of the game. Timur Oruz gave a positive start to his side by scoring the first point.

India made a comeback in the second quarter with Simranjeet Singh scoring a point. When the scores levelled, Germany fought back and scored back to back goals which worried the Indian side and fans

However, by the halftime, India and Germany scores were levelled with 3-3, thanks to the timely goals made by Hardik Singh and Harmanpreet Singh.

India showed its dominance in the third quarter, Rupinder Pal Singh and Simranjeet Singh scoring one goal each giving a lead of 5-4 to India.

German player Lukas Windfeder scored a goal to help his side make a comeback. However, India emerged victorious in the match with goalkeeper PR Sreejesh saved a crucial goal at the end.
