Mithali Raj reaches top spot in ICC ODI Rankings for ninth time

Celebrated Indian women's cricketer Mithali Raj has made it to the top position in the Women’s ODI rankings. The skipper has reached the first position with 762 rating points.

It's been more than two decades since Mithali Raj has been representing India in cricket. The right hander has reached the top position in the ICC ODI rankings which shows her dominance in the game. She is often regarded as the Sachin Tendulkar of women's cricket.

She is the highest run scorer in international cricket in women's cricket. Mithali Raj surpassed the record held by England's Charlotte Edwards to reach the milestone.

Young player Smriti Mandhana stood at the ninth position in the ICC rankings,making her the only Indian to find a place in the top 10 list besides Mithali Raj.

Indian speedster Jhulan Goswami is the only member from team India in top 10 list in the bowling department. Deepti Sharma stood at fifth position in the all-rounder category.

In the shorter format of the game, Smriti Mandhana has reached the third spot, thanks to her innings against the hosts England. The left handed player has scored 70 in the match.
