Gujarat Lost second Rajya Sabha Member Due To Covid-19 Complications within a week

There is no stopping for the spread of the novel Coronavirus in the country. After the public, the politicians, actors, and high profile patients are losing their lives to the pandemic.

Advocate turned politician and Gujarat BJP Rajya Sabha member Abhay Bhardwaj succumbed to the complications related to the Coronavirus at a private hospital on Tuesday.

Earlier this week, Congress senior leader and Treasurer Ahmed Patel succumbed to the pandemic. Abhay Bhardwaj is the second Rajya Sabha member from Gujarat to succumb to the virus within a week.

The Rajya Sabha member has contacted the novel Coronavirus in August. Following this, he was shifted to an ICU ward at a hospital in Gujarat's Rajkot for a month.

With his health condition deteriorating further, the Rajya Sabha member was shifted to a private hospital in Chennai two months back.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the death of the Rajya Sabha member. He took to microblogging site Twitter and to condole the MP."Rajya Sabha MP from Gujarat, Shri Abhay Bharadwaj Ji was a distinguished lawyer and remained at the forefront of serving society. It is sad we have lost a bright and insightful mind, passionate about national development. Condolences to his family and friends. Om Shanti," his tweet read.
