Highly Versatile BrahMos Missile Test-Fired From INS Chennai

The versatile supersonic cruise missile BrahMos was successfully testfired from the Indian Navy's indigenously-built stealth destroyer INS Chennai on Sunday, DRDO said.

The supersonic cruise missile has hit the target successfully with pinpoint accuracy. The stealth destroyer was launched from INS Chennai in the Arabian Sea.

The BrahMos missile that was jointly designed and developed by India and Russia can hit the targets at longer ranges. The new missile adds more capabilities to the Indian Navy.

Defence Research and Development Organisation(DRDO) took to Twitter to share the news of the successful test-firing.

"BRAHMOS, the supersonic cruise missile was successfully test fired today on 18th October 2020 from Indian Navy''s indigenously-built stealth destroyer INS Chennai, hitting a target in the Arabian Sea. The missile hit the target successfully with pin-point accuracy," DRDO's tweet read.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated DRDO, Indian Navy, BarhMos, and the Scientists for successfully test-firing the supersonic cruise missile.

The new development came a day after Union Home Minister said, India is always prepared for war. In his interview, he indirectly warned dragon country China.
