Eleven People Killed In An Open Fire At Mexico Bar

Guanajuato has been the most violent state in Mexico in recent years. The city, traditionally an agricultural and industrial town, has been ravaged by drug violence.

According to reports, eleven people were killed early Sunday morning after armed assailants opened fire in a bar in Guanajuato. The attack left seven men and four women dead, and another woman seriously injured.

The local reports stated that that the attackers arrived in several vehicles and began shooting at customers and employees. The drug mafia is said to be behind the atrocity.

In recent years, drug sales, gun culture and crimes have increased in Guanajuato.  Drug trafficking and consumption are high in the city and has the highest crime rate compared to other states in Mexico, according to government reports.
