Gautam Gambhir Slams Dhoni For Batting At No. 7

Former India opener Gautam Gambhir has slammed Chennai Super Kings captain, MS Dhoni, for coming to bat at number seven when the team was chasing a huge target, '217' against Rajasthan Royals.

The skipper came out to bat in the 14th over of the innings with CSK at 114/5. By the time, he walked on the pitch, the side needed 103 off 38 balls and Faf du Plessis was on 17 off 18 balls at the other end.

As the target is huge, CSK lost the match and many experts have said that Dhoni should have come in earlier to bat. Sam Curran, Ravindra Jadeja, Ruturaj Gaikwad had come in front of Dhoni to bat against Rajasthan.

"Yes, you can talk about MS Dhoni's last over [when he hit three sixes], but it was of no use, to be honest. It was just all personal runs," Gambhir said.

"There is nothing wrong if you end up getting out early, at least start leading from the front, trying to inspire the team as well," he added.
