Tweeple Celebrates National Unemployment Day On Narendra Modi's Birthday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who celebrated his birthday on the other day and turned 70 faced a jolt from the Twitterati and left ideology people after they made a Twitter trend.

While Narendra Modi celebrated his birthday, Twitterati observed the National Unemployment Daybu using  #NationalUnemploymentDay hashtag. More than 1.68 million tweets were made using the hashtag.

Twitterati is not happy with the rapid growth of the unemployment rate in the country which increased largely with the deadly outbreak of the novel Coronavirus.

Between March-August more than 12 crore employees lost their jobs and turned unemployed with the Indian economy suffered a severe loss. This translates to a 27.1% unemployment rate.

In addition to that, the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy(CMIE) estimated that between May to August, nearly 6.6 million who hold the white-collar jobs lost their jobs and turned unemployed.

On top of that, during this period, the savings of the white-collar job holders got drained which adds more problems to the job holders

Leaders like  Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in Karnataka Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah, and several others took part in the campaign and made tweets on Unemployment.
