Delhi Riots: Police Named 15 Accused In The Charge Sheet Of Over 15,000 Pages

Going by the pieces of evidence they have gathered while investigating, the Delhi police have filed a charge sheet of over 15,000 pages in connection with the Delhi riots that took place in February.

The charge sheet was filed by the special cell wing of Delhi police over the Anti-CAA riots. The police had also included 15 accused in the charge sheet in this case.

21 people were arrested by the cops so far, while 15 out of them were included in the charge sheet on the grounds of various pieces of evidence they have gathered. The pieces of evidence include scientific, documentary, and testimonial evidence.

The Centre has brought the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) in December 2019  to provide Indian citizenship to illegal migrants of Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi, and Christian religious minorities of neighboring countries Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan before December 2014 which did not go well with the Left-wing organizations

Following this, communal clashes erupted in the national capital Delhi between the CAA opposers and supporters that resulted in 53 casualties, while over 200 victims suffered severe injuries.

The Special cell of Delhi Police took over 150 days to constitute the first phase of the investigation. For this, the special wing banked highly on the WhatsApp chats of the accused and other information.
