No Replacement In TDP For AP President Post?

Chandrababu Naidu is in a big dilemma! His problem is who will succeed Kala Venkata Rao as the AP unit president of the Telugu Desam. Kala Venkat Rao has indicated that he is not interested in having another term. The party cadre is despondent and demoralised and needs a new leader who can infuse new energy into them, he feels. According to sources in the TDP, he declined an offer to be the party's AP president a second time.

The problem for Chandrababu is that there are not many choices. Leaders like Yanamala Ramakrishnudu seem to be disinterested. In fact, Yanamala is planning his walk into the political sunset. While Atchen Naidu is a fighter and can match word for word with the YSRCP leaders, Chandrababu feels that another president from  North Andhra could harm the party's prospects in the Rayalaseema and South Coastal Andhra regions. But more than that, there are several leaders within the TDP, who do not like Atche Naidu's ways. There could be a rebellion, warn some. Another choice is Payyavula Keshav. But, Chandrababu is unsure of his loyalty. He feels that Payyavula might join hands with Jagan the moment the latter gives a nod.

As a result, he is unable to find a suitable leader to take reins of the party in Andhra Pradesh. Also, the absence of several key leaders and some sitting MLAs at the Mahanadu is a worrying thing for him. The problem is they skipped the meet despite this being a zoom meeting.
