Who will get affected by Legislative Council abolishment?

The AP government resolution to abolish the Legislative council has left the opposition in a shock as some leaders of the party will be left with no positions and seats.

Former Minister Nara Lokesh comes first in the list to lose positions as MLC. In the 2019 elections, he failed to win the MLA seat and became MLC.

Out of the 58 members the Opposition TDP enjoys a lion share of 28 seats while the YSRCP, PDF, BJP has a strength of 9,5 and 2 respectively. On the other hand, there are 3 independent seats and 8 nominated posts in the house.

Looking at the current scenario, the ruling YSRCP doesn't get affected by abolishing the Legislative Council as they have a 2/3rd majority in the state Assembly.

The only parties getting affected by this will be the TDP and BJP with the latter failed to win any MLA seats. Though the TDP has 23 seats they cannot stop any bill from getting approved in the house.

Even the political circles are citing that Naidu did this purposefully to show that he knows everything the politics which led the government to abolish the upper house.
