Nirbhaya's mother lashed out at convicts

Nirbhaya's mother lashed out at the convict for approaching the SC to delay his sentence. She called the mercy plea a mockery of the legal system. Nirbhaya was gang-raped on December 16, 2012, by six men.

The victim's mother spoke after one of the convicts sent a mercy plea to the Supreme Court. She said that human rights were violated the night her child was brutalised.

Reminding about the inhuman act done by the convicts Nirbhaya’s mother said, “The day they took out the intestines of the girl, did they remember human rights.”

After Unnao Rape victim died due to cardiac arrest in Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi on Friday, Nirbhaya's mother has expressed her anger over yet another loss of life.

The Union Home Ministry has sent a recommendation rejecting the mercy petition filed by one of the convicts in the 2012 Nirbhaya rape and murder case to President Ram Nath Kovind.
