Know who is the coolest politician in Maharashtra today?

Nothing as of now is final on the issue of Government formation in Maharashtra. With no party getting the required numbers, stitching together a coalition is proving to be a tough task for all parties. But, wily Sharad Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party is now the most sought after party in the state. He seems to be a must in any permutation or combination. Both the BJP and Shiv Sena Congress want him. So, everyone is wooing him and foxy politician that he is, Sharad Pawar is keeping his cards close to his chest. He seems to be in no hurry to take a call.

He is going to have his next meeting with Sonia Gandhi on the issue on November 17, where the common minimum programme of the Shiv Sena-Congress-NCP government will be discussed. But, nothing concrete has come out so far on the contours of the government formation and sharing of power.  Meanwhile, the BJP too is trying to woo the NCP. BJP sources have already contacted him. Sharad Pawar is non-committal as of now. With 54 seats in his kitty, Sharad Pawar seems to be in no hurry and appears to be waiting for the best bargain out of a worst situation.

In Maharashtra's 288 seat assembly, no party has got the majority. The BJP has stopped at 105 and its former ally and now foe Shiv Sena got 56. The NCP has 54 seats. The Congress has got 44 seats. Shiv Sena, which was an alliance partner with the BJP, has walked out of the alliance after the election results and is now trying to form the government with the support of the Congress and the NCP.
