Is This The Last MP Election Result To Be Announced?

For all those eagerly waiting for the election results in the all-important Nizamabad, here is a dampener. The Nizamabad Lok Sabha election result could be among the last results to be announced. It could be delayed by a day.

According to the election officials monitoring the counting process, special arrangements will have to be made for Nizamabad Lok Sabha constituency in view of the large number of the candidates in the fray. The constituency has 185 candidates in all. In addition, provisions have to be made for NOTA. Thus, the EVMs have to have 186 buttons. This means usage of extra large EVMs. For the counting, extra tables will have to be arranged. The counting would be done in 18 tables. After the EVM counting, the VVPATs would have to be counted. This will take additional time.

Nizamabad is a high profile seat as KCR's daughter Kalvakuntla Kavitha is seeking a re-election from there. The BJP has fielded Dharmapuri Aravind, while the Congress has fielded its two-time MP Madhu Yashki Goud.  Polling trends suggest that there could be a photo-finish in Nizamabad.
