But the actor is underutilised in Ala Vaikuntapurramuloo as he and Allu Arjun had great chemistry. Trivikram Srinivas tried to use him as special surprise or like Relangi in a Ramana Reddy/Allu Ramalingaiah dominated comedy villainy film.
He tried to give him an inspector role contrast to Julayi but in sync with the tone of that role, also. While he did bring few laughs here and there, he did not bring house down like many expect him to do so.
Even in Sarileru Neekevvaru, he just kept walking into the frame or been in the frame like filler but did not have much to do. He was given a Sunil/young Brahmanandam role in the film.
Anil Ravipudi started off his role well, but he almost forced himself to keep him in every frame unlike Trivikram, who at least tried to keep RP as a trump card, when the screenplay is stale.
Anil used him similarly in F2, but here he failed to give him a complete presence rather than being a side-kick who is just there as an extended help than a character. He might have added one or two lines here and there, to justify his presence but overall, he did not give him a role that utilises his potential.
We can conclude that this Sankranthi RP became part of successful films but did not get his due credit as both the makers did not give him big impactful scenes that coincide with his stature.
