Banking, services and other services are likely to hit as the trade unions called for a nationwide bandh. Central Trade Unions except for the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh- affiliated Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, will participate in the nationwide strike.

The CPI on Friday appealed to appeal to support the Bandh called by trade unions and farmers, against the economic policies of the BJP-led NDA government.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi supported the Trade Unions Bandh, call given by 10 biggest trade unions in the country. Rahul Gandhi condemned the Modi government for anti-people and anti-labour policies.

Police in Andhra Pradesh arrested the leaders of Left parties and Trade Unions as they tried to stop state-owned buses as a part of a nationwide strike. Protesters were arrested in Vijayawada, Vizag, Ongole, Kadapa and other places when they tried to stop buses coming out from the depots.
