Here's some real good news for all those MLAs from Karnataka who have worked hard to bring back the BJP under Yediyurappa to power. There would be a major expansion of the Karnataka Cabinet. Yediyurappa says the cabinet would be expanded during the Sankranthi festivities. Yediyurappa would soon go to Delhi to meet the Central leaders and decide on the names of the leaders who would be included in the cabinet.  He said things would be finalised by the end of the month and the new members would be sworn in by Sankranthi.

In all probability, most of the MLAs who had won in the bypolls would be accommodated to give stability to the Government. Yediyurappa now has a comfortable majority in the assembly and is in a position to take decisions independently. He has also proved his ability by winning 13 of the 15 seats in the bypolls. Now, it has the necessary elbow space to manoeuvre in the state government.

Yediyurappa is the only BJP chief minister in India, who has crossed 75 years of age. The party leadership, which has been retiring all the above – 75 years leaders, has given an exception to Yediyurappa. He has proved that he is indispensable for the party in Karnataka.
