Currently, the BJP has won 2 seats and is in leading in 10 more seats. While the Century-old Congress party is in leading in 2 seats, interestingly, JD(S) is lagging behind in every constituency.
The polling for the 15 seats commenced on the 5th of this month. While the BJP and Congress contested in all the 15 constituencies, the JD(S) contested in only 12 seats. The By-polls took place with 15 MLAs of Congress and JD(S) were disqualified.
The saffron party has 105 members' strength in the Assembly. To retain the power the BJP party needs to win just 6 seats out of 15 constituencies. The bypoll results gave a boost to the BJP party.
