Why No Tollywood Biggie Called On YS Jagan?

It's been two months after YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has been sworn in as the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. But, the topguns of Tollywood have not even made a courtesy call on YS Jagan. Several film actors like Pruthvi, Ali, director Vamsi and others have actively supported the party and had even campaigned for Jagan. But, the big families of Tollywood have remained lukewarm to YS Jagan. Usually they make a customary visit to the new CM, this has not happened with Jagan.

Sources say the film industry is dominated by one community, which has been traditionally closer to the TDP. This section may not be relishing the very idea of YS Jagan becoming the CM of AP. But, yet others say that the film industry's interests are mainly lying in Telangana and the industry does not want to antagonise KCR and the TRS in any which way. Most studios, production houses and even stars stay in Hyderabad. They also do not have any stake in AP. So, they may have given a cold-shoulder to Jagan.

The Akkinenis and the Krishna family are traditionally closer to the YSRCP, but the latter has a problem. The family's son-in-law Galla Jaidev is a TDP MP from Guntur. So they may have stayed away. The Akkineni family's business interests are mainly centred in and around Hyderabad.
