Why Chandrababu Cancelled His North Andhra Visit?

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's political master stroke is beginning to yield rich dividends already. Ever since YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced that Visakhapatnam would become the executive capital of the state, Chandrababu is in a fix whether to support it or oppose it. He is caught in a pincer now. He can neither support it nor oppose it. If he opposes it, he would alienate the people of North Coastal Andhra. If he supports it, his supporters in and around Amaravati will slam him.

So confused is the TDP that the leaders from North Coastal Andhra have advised Chandrababu Naidu against visiting Vizianagaram. Chandrababu was scheduled to visit Vizianagaram on January 2 and 3 to review the party position. But, now he has cancelled his visit. His biggest worry is that most party leaders from North Andhra are backing YS Jagan's idea. Former minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Balayya Babu's son in law Bharat and Kondru Murali have already spoken in favour of Vizag as the capital city. Many north Andhra leaders are backing them fully. Some have even threatened to leave the party if Chandrababu opposed Vizag.

Finding himself in on a sticky wicket, Chandrababu Naidu has now decided not to visit North Andhra for now. If the same trend continues, he would even think twice before planning a visit to Rayalaseema.
