But, if sources are to be believed, things are not all that rosy for him. He is facing lot of problems from within. There is complete non-cooperation from the party state leadership. None of the big leaders attended his Gandhi Yatra or the CAA –related programmes in his constituency. In fact, sources close to Sanjay say that they had actually tried to put spokes into his works. The state leadership has always remained aloof from his programme. Yet, he went on organising programmes and has proved his strength even in the recent Municipal elections, where the party performed very creditably.
Sources say that within the party, a strong section is vehemently opposing the proposal to make him the Telangana BJP chief. Though the Central leadership is all for Sanjay because of his fighting qualities and charisma among the young voters, the leaders at the state level feel he could be a threat to them and are pleading with the Central leadership not to make him party president for Telangana.
