Venkaiah Naidu Helps SC Officer In Rajya Sabha

Vice-president M Venkaiah Naidu is a one-of-a-kind politician. He leaves his mark wherever he goes and in whatever he does. Even on foreign tours, he does not forget to wear the typical Telugu Panche or Lungi. Same way, he is leaving his mark whenever the issue of Dalit empowerment comes up.

Venkaiah, who is also the chairperson of the Rajya Sabha, has realized there is no person from the scheduled castes at the level of joint secretary. In fact, the rules for reservations in promotion have been enacted as early as 1952. But, no SC has so far been appointed. On coming to know about it, he immediately initiated necessary action and asked the higher officials to ensure that an SC is made the joint secretary of the Rajya Sabha.

Immediately, Vimal Kumar, who has put on 29 years of service, has been promoted to the post of joint secretary. The SC officials are very happy at the initiative of the vice president.
