He was once the right hand man of Yogi Adityanath. Today, he is Yogi's sworn enemy. Sunil Singh, president of the Hindu Yuva Vahini, a strongly pro-Hindu organisation founded by Yogi himself, has on Saturday joined the Samajwadi Party in the presence of SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav and former CM Akhilesh Yadav.

Sunil singh, once considered to be very close to Yogi Adityanth, has been expelled from the Hindu Yuva Vahini in 2017 on charges of indiscipline. Singh formed his own outfit and proclaimed himself its national president.  Since then, he has been strongly opposing Yogi Adityanath. The BJP made no bid to cajole Singh and allowed him to go to the opposition ranks.

The SP said that the joining of Singh into the SP would signal the end of the road for the BJP government. Akhilesh said that the days of the Adityanath government are numbered and the countdown has already begun." He said that the BJP was trying to create Hindu-Muslim divide.
