Student Insults District Collector On Twitter, Lands In Jail

A local sympathiser of the Majlis Itthadul Muslimeen, who is also a degree level student, was taken into custody for posting obscene comments on Warangal district collector. Sohail, a resident of Pension Pura under Mamunur police station limits has posted several unprintably obscene posts against district collector Prashant Jivan Patil.  The tweets sparked off strong reaction from the officials and the general public. The posts, which comprised invectives and cuss words,  went viral on the social media. The police took a serious view of the tweets and arrested him.

Sohail, who appeared to be a diehard supporter of the Majlis, also spewed venom on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He had also tweeted against the UP police in connection with the Unnao incident. The police arrested him based on the complaint filed by district revenue officer P Mohan Lal. Cases have been booked against Sohail under Sections 189, 294 B and 504 of the Indian Penal Code. The police are questioning him.
