They are now trying to rake up this issue to put the YSRCP on the mat. Already YSRCP leaders have met YS Jagan with a slew of suggestions on how to improve the Rayalaseema region. Realising that the YSRCP was stealing the march over them, the TDP leaders have decided to bring the issue of greater Rayalaseema region. They are now trying to talk about bringing in Bellari district into the region and carve out a separate state.
The TDP is going ahead with this agitation little realising the fact that for most part of the last 40 years, it is the TDP which is in power and for most of its reign, it is the leader from Kuppam, which is part of Rayalaseema, who was actually ruling the roost. Why was there no demand for greater Rayalaseema all these years and why did Telugu Desam not talk about Rayalaseema's backwardness all these days?
