Sharwanand openly stated that he did not believe 96 should be remade and he told to Dil Raju, the producer that the film is a cult and he won't do it. But he was cornered to do it somehow and he is happy about it.

He shared all this at "Jaanu" trailer launch. The movie is releasing on 7th February and it is Tamil movie, 96 remake.

Now, even Samantha Akkineni stated that she also initially rejected the idea of being part of the film.

She thanked Dil Raju for pursuing her to do the film even after her rejection. She said that the film ended up being one of her best films and she is happy that she became a part of it.

Prem Kumar who directed the original made the film in Telugu too. Natural Star Nani wished the team all the best and he said that the Telugu audiences who watched 96 will also like the Telugu version of the film, as there is a magic in the story and film, as well.
