Priyanka Vadra back as star campaigner

Is Priyanka Vadra in or out of the Congress Party's inner most coterie? Conflicting reports over her status are leaving the party leaders and the cadre utterly confused. Priyanka Vadra, seen as a ray of hope especially in the wake of the uninspiring and flop show of Rahul Gandhi and the nagging ill-health of Sonia Gandhi, has not been asked to campaign in the elections to the assemblies of Haryana and Maharashtra. Though Rahul Gandhi was not available for most of the campaign period, Priyanka was not named as ‘star campaigner.'

But now, Priyanka's name has been included in the list of star campaigners for the upcoming Jharkhand polls. She will be campaigning extensively in the state, where the Congress has an alliance with the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha. Sources say her name has been included especially after the party's better performance in Haryana and Maharashtra, where the party fared better. She was not included in the campaign in these two states fearing that the poor performance would affect her aura. Now, post the election results in these two states, the party feels that she can be included as a star campaigner in Jharkhand, where the BJP government is facing anti-incumbency.

Party sources say that Priyanka Vadra was not part of the campaign in Maharashtra and Haryana as she was busy rebuilding the party in Uttar Pradesh. So, are we to assume that the party is back to being fighting fit in UP?
