BJP Has CM Candidate In Delhi

Who will take on Arvind Kejriwal? This is the interesting question that is doing rounds in the BJP circles these days. With Delhi elections round the corner, the BJP is looking for a suitable CM candidate to take on two-time CM of the AAP, Arvind Kejriwal. However, there aren't enough choices. No BJP leader in the state of Delhi has the charisma to beat Kejriwal.

BJP senior minister Prakash Jawadekar has indirectly hinted that the BJP will not project a CM candidate for Delhi. His comment that Prime Minister Modi will take on Kejriwal is being interpreted as a confirmation that the BJP is not going to project a CM candidate. In fact, BJP's experience with projecting CMs in Delhi has been disastrous. In the last elections, it projected Kiran Bedi, but the party could win only three seats. Earlier too, the BJP had once projected Sushma Swaraj. In fact, she was made a CM barely six months before the elections and she failed to lead the party to victory. In 2008, it projected VK Malhotra dn in 2013, Harshavardhan were projected and both had failed.

Interestingly, even the Congress is fighting shy of projected a CM candidate. Though senior leader Ajay Maken is spearheading the Congress Party's campaign, the party has not announced him as a candidate.  So, it's advantage for Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi.
