Does YCP Need Defectors At This Stage?

Even before the defections began into YCP, All the National Media Houses & Survey Agencies had unanimously predicted thumping victory for the Main Opposition-led by YS Jaganmohan Reddy in Andhra Pradesh. This is one of the crucial reasons behind the intense lobbying of TDP MLAs and MPs to join YCP ahead of the elections.

Political Analysts questioned, 'What is the need for YCP Leadership to encourage defections if it can win elections with the existing MLAs/MPs/Party In-charges? How can Jagan accommodate all the defectors? What will be the situation of Leaders who have been working for strengthening the party in the past 5 years? Accommodating a new member before the elections is like doing injustice to the existing Leader who strived hard for the party against all the odds for years'.

YCP needn't have to encourage Opportunistic Politicians when there is a positive wave. Leaders who were denied preferred seat by TDP Leadership and those who lack the confidence to win on TDP Ticket have been looking at YCP. What will party gain by welcoming all of them? Jagan should be very cautious while dealing with leaders who aren't reliable.
