Rajinikanth was the chief guest for the event called Ungal Naan which is meant to celebrate Kamal Haasan's 60 years in Indian Cinema. Superstar opined there is no other actor as accomplished as Kamal Haasan in World Cinema and that's why he is Ulaga Nayagan (Universal Hero). 'Saw him for the first time as a Child Artist on a movie tent screen. I was in awe of him then and now as well. Many People in the Industry advised Me to maintain enmity with Kamal to sell more tickets but I ignored it. Our Friendship will continue even after we enter into a different field (politics). So, I request our Fans not to fight,' he said.

At this event, Thalaivar hinted about his political debut by mentioning about the AIADMK Government. '99 percent of People predicted AIADMK Government won't last for long after the demise of Jayalalithaa. From 10 Days to 1 Month & 4-5 Months but it lasted until Today and that's a miracle.
