The 69th Miss Universe competition which was postponed last year due to the Coronavirus was conducted this year.  It was wrapped up a while ago and Andrea Meza from Mexico got crowned as the Miss Universe. The event was held in Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

The first runner-up went to Julia Gama from Brazil and Janick Maceta from Peru ended up as the second runner-up. The third and fourth runner-ups India's Adline Castelino and Kimberly Perez from the Dominic Republic. As we know Miss Universe titles were awarded to Indian beauties Sushmita Sen and Lara Dutta in 1994 and 2000 respectively.

Despite ending up as the third runner-up, Adline Castelino made everyone proud by making it to the Top 5. Adline won the hearts of everyone by wearing a 6 yards saree in the national costume round. It is designer by Hyderabadi named Shravan Kumar. It was reportedly inspired by our national flower lotus which symbolizes knowledge.

She shared her happiness by writing, 'If I could pen down this feeling without getting overwhelmed about how I felt as I stood there witnessing people around the world cheering, flags waving high and even if I missed seeing I felt like I was home. I thought of you India and what we are going through. The love that people give you when they are hurting themselves is the purest form of love one can experience. I'm grateful to you that at a young age I have experienced that and if I could only show you what I saw that day! I saw hope, a hope that will be ours soon.'
