Remember superstar Mahesh Babu has announced that he is adopting two villages - one in Andhra Pradesh and one in Telangana - way back in 2016? That was the time when his Srimanthudu was released and the film talked about adopting the villages for alround development. He personally met both KTR and Chandrababu Naidu to tell them about the adoption. Superstar Krishna's home village Burripalem was adopted in AP and Siddhapur in Telangana.
Almost three years have gone by. Except for a stray board and a bus shelter with Mahesh Babu's visage, nothing has been done. As for Siddhapur, everyone forgot about it. Though he has taken up some surgeries for the children with congenital heart problems in Burripalem, nothing much was done. The village falls under in the MP constituency that his brother-in-law Galla Jaidev represents. Galla too is a big-time industrialist.
On Friday, Super Star Mahesh Babu's wife Namratha Shirodkar met YS Bharathi, wife of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at the latter's Tadepalli residence and sought Government support to Mahesh Babu's programmes in the village. Our question is - if Mahesh Babu has adopted a village, why should the Government support him with financial support? Does anyone care to reply?
