Indian Yoga Guru Arrested In Aus For Sexual Assault

Anand Giri, a self-proclaimed yoga and spiritual guru, has been arrested in Australia for allegedly sexually assaulting two women during prayer meetings. A Court in Sydney remanded the Yoga Guru till June 26th this year.

Reportedly, Anand Giri was on a six week tour of Australia and scheduled to return to India on Monday. He, however, was taken into custody by the Australian Police on charges of two counts of indecent behaviour with two women. Anand Giri was accused of assaulting a 29-Year-Old Woman when he attended a prayer meeting in Rooty Hill in 2016. He is also facing allegations of behaving inappropriately with a 34-Year-Old Woman when they met for prayers in 2018.


Giri's Facebook Account contains photographs of him with Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, UP CM Yogi Adityanath, Union Minister VK Singh and Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev. He hails from Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh and currently pursuing doctorate in Yoga Tantra.
