As many as 600 of 751 members of the Europian Parliament have moved 6 resolutions on the citizenship Amendment Act and Jammu and Kashmir issue. The government reacted to it saying that it is an internal issue and it is adapted through due process and democratic means after a public debate in both the houses of parliament.

The Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats have criticized India for religious policies. The Europian Peoples party expressed its concern that the move would have negative consequences for the country's international reputation and internal stability

The Centre has made it clear that CAA is purely internal affairs and this is not a matter of religion. The decision was taken after a debate in both the houses of the Parliament.
