While releasing the list of 48 MP Candidates, Union Minister JP Nadda declared BJP won't be fielding its candidate in Mandya Constituency. 'BJP supports Sumalatha in 2019 Lok Sabha Polls,' he said.
Ambareesh had represented Mandya Assembly and Lok Sabha Constituencies in the past. Although Sumalatha sought Congress ticket to contest from the Lok Sabha segment after the demise of Ambareesh, Congress allotted the Mandya Constituency to alliance partner JD (S). CM Kumaraswamy decided to launch his Son Nikhil Gowda making use of this opportunity. He, however, received a rude shock when Sumalatha decided to contest as Independent. And now, Victory could be a cake walk for her with Sympathy Wave and the support of BJP.
