Arguments of CBI's Counsel and Chidambaram's Counsel lasted for more than 90 minutes. Citing the non-cooperation from the Former Union Minister for the investigation, CBI sought his custody for five days. Finally, Special Judge Ajay Kumar Kuhar took a decision in favour of the Investigation Agency but limited custody to only 4 days, until Monday.
SC bench headed by Justice R Banumathi will hear the anticipatory bail petition of P Chidambaram on Friday.
On Wednesday, CBI arrested Chidambaram at his residence in New Delhi on corruption charges. The Investigation Agency sought custodial interrogation to make him break silence on the conspiracy involving INX Media Case. Chidambaram's Wife Nalini and Son Karti were in the courtroom when the Judge permitted custody to the CBI.
