Are Komatireddys Ditching Congress?

Is Komatireddy family ditching the Congress? It appears so. On Friday morning, Nakrekal MLA Chirumarthy Lingaiah met KCR. From all accounts it is becoming increasingly clear that Lingaiah could join the TRS very soon. If this happens, it only means that Komatireddy brothers - Venkata Reddy and Rajagopal Reddy, are all set to join the TRS. This also implies that the TRS could field Komatireddy Venakta Reddy as the TRS candidate for the Nalgonda MP seat.

Komatireddy brothers feel that there is very little future for them in the Congress. In fact, there is very little future for themselves in the Congress Party. They expected that post-the drubbing in the Assembly elections, the high command would make one of them the PCC chief. But, the Congress is continuing with Uttam Kumar Reddy. Many political watchers say that Chirumarthi Lingaiah is the alter ego of Komatireddy brothers and owes his everything to the Komatireddy family. "He could not have met KCR without a nod from Komatireddy brothers. This only means that even Komatireddy brothers could soon join the TRS," said a political watchers.

The immediate impact of Chirumarthi's defection would be on the upcoming MLC elections. The Congress will now lose all hopes of winning the MLC seat as already three of its MLAs are in touch with the TRS. By the time the Lok Sabha elections near, Komatireddy brothers too would join the TRS and Venkat Reddy could be made the TRS candidate for Nalgonda MP seat. This will leave only Uttam Kumar Reddy in the Congress and he would be forced to fight a lone battle. Amid news that even Sabitha Indrareddy could join the TRS, is the Congress getting completely emptied?
