IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman received a hero's welcome as he returned to India after Pakistan held him captive for couple of days. People across the country prayed for his safe return to the homeland when the news of his captivity spread like wildfire. Welcome Messages kept pouring on the social networking sites since Thursday.

The other day, Abhinandan Varthaman got a special welcome message from Mars. Yes, India's Mars Orbiter Mission (MoM) which is popular as Mangalyaan sent it. The Tweet from ISRO's official twitter handle for MoM (@MarsOrbiter) read: 'We are proud of you #WingCommanderAbhinandan'.

It's the first tweet from Mangalyaan in the past 7 months. That long duration makes it very very special. The previous tweet was on September 29th, 2018 when MoM celebrated fourth anniversary.

Actually, Mangalyaan was supposed to survive in Mars for only 6 months. Contrary to the expectations, It managed to last for over 4 years in the Red Planet and that's the biggest success of India's maiden mission to Mars.
