Joint Action Committee held People's Ballot in Gudiwada Constituency on Thursday. Ballot Boxes were placed at Gudiwada Bus Stand Centre, Eluru Road and Market Yard in this Assembly Segment. About 6,909 people took part in the polling to share their opinion on the '3 Capitals' proposed by the State Government. Shockingly, 6,573 Votes (95.13%) polled were in favour of Amaravati. Only 328 Voters (4.7%) preferred 3 Capitals. 8 Votes were declared invalid. After the counting, Amaravati Parirakshana Gudiwada JAC President Ramineni Venkata Krishna demanded the YCP Government to conduct a referendum on '3 Capitals'.
Kodali Nani was elected as Gudiwada MLA for four consecutive terms. If the situation is like that in a constituency which is known to be strong hold of YCP, What could be reaction of people in other parts of Andhra. Of course, 6,909 isn't a big sample to reflect the mood of the people in a region or state but still it can't be ignored. If YCP Govt seeks referendum, Then People of AP will be able to choose what they want in the current situation. That is when CM Jagan could proceed further as per the aspirations of majority of the people.
